Subject: Final Thoughts.
In responce to joejoey7,
there is an out of print DVD release by RetroFLICKS,
(Not to be confused with Retro-Media)
The quality on that DVD was far superior compared to this one.
The audio was not out of sync and the picture quality looked a little enhanced.
As for the movie itself, of course it's a remake of "The She-Creature".
It terms of acting, quality, story telling,
the original 50's version was the better film.
However, I like the ending to this version more.
The ending to "The She-Creature" felt like a cheap attempt at making a happy ending.
So I pick the tragic ending in this version.
However, I think we can all agree that
"Creature of Destruction" and "The She-Creature"
are both far better than that Sebastian Gutierrez film of the same title.
Subject: really enjoyed this
Although far from perfect this is probably as good of a print as you'll ever see of this movie. Has anyone else had a problem with the audio sync on it?
Subject: Many Thanks!
Many thanks for uploading this, one of Larry Buchanan's handful of Azalea Pictures sci-fi films. While not as famous as Zontar, this is one of his better pictures from that group of no-budget quickies made for TV in the mid-60s. Not a week goes by that I don't watch one of his films.
The verisimilitude of these no-budget films colored the dreams and nightmares of so many of us baby boomers who saw them on TV in the wee hours during the late 60s and early 70s, and for those who stayed clean and sober back then, Larry's films provided another kind of trip! Here's to all the great guerilla b-movie filmmakers like Larry Buchanan!
Subject: Getting it "C.O.D."
The fun of watching Larry B's flicks is comparing them to the original AIP flicks. The first time I saw "Zontar" I thought it was terrific. Then three days later I saw "It Conquered The World" and kicked myself in the
butt for being so ignorant. I didn't know as much about monster movies then as I do now. I've always loved horror flicks no matter how good or bad they were. I've heard about this one years ago but didn't get to see it until recently. Now, judging by the reviews, I'm glad to make it available.
In response to the two earlier reviewers, keep watching this site. There might just be a Swamp Creature in your future real soon.
As for the rest of you monsterphiles, UPLOAD MORE MONSTERS!!! Let's have a monster explosion on IA. I'll do what I can, and you guys help me out, OK?
Subject: More Larry!!!
to the uploader of good taste: any more high-quality files of larry buchanan movies? more works of the greatest auteur of "bad cinema" would be greatly appreciated!!
